When looking for relief managers who are going to be put into a position of trust, hospitality owners and operators will try to appoint managers they have had previous satisfactory dealings with. Without the luxury of a previous track record with relief managers, a prospective employer needs to be sure that the people appointed to that position of trust, will be of an honest and trustworthy nature. References can often be misleading and you need peace of mind when "handing over the reins".
